From paying taxes and getting up for work to dancing with kittens and starting a band, readers everywhere will relate to the ongoing struggle between Heart and Brain.
Heart and Brain: An Awkward Yeti Collection illustrates the relationship between the sensible Brain and its emotionally driven counterpart, the Heart.
Boasting more than one million pageviews per month, TheAwkwardYeti.com has become a webcomic staple since its creation in 2012.
**I received a free eARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
In this collection we get to see Heart, Brain and Lars, the Awkward Yeti, dealing with everyday struggles, and making us see how hard it can be to do what both the brain and the heart want. They show us how Heart and Brain interact with each other and make us feel (or in this case, Lars) all kinds of different emotions. And it's all so relatable that you'll find yourself laughing out loud with almost every story.
Heart is always happy. Brain is always worried. If Heart does something, Brain is right behind it to clean up its messes. And, as adorable as Heart can be, it can get on your nerves sometimes, because acting on impulse is not always the best solution. I mean, if your heart wants you to be happy and quit your job without thinking about the consequences, then you're just going to pick up the phone and tell your boss you're never coming back, right? No biggie.
Although Brain has its own faults too! It loves overthinking and keeping poor Lars up at night, playing possible scenarios of what could go wrong in the future, or pointing out every embarrassing thing he did during the day.
This is so well done, and the best part is that anyone could see themselves in most of these situations. Oh and even Stomach makes a couple of appearances, because we all know how annoying that little rascal can be sometimes.
But there's always gonna be the one thing that both Heart and Brain agree on: pizza and coffee are awesome.
Thank you for reading! Bye-Bye! ♥
Well... if this isn't the most accurate thing about human behavior, then I don't know what is.

This sounds different. Great review!
ReplyDeleteI will have to read this one, thanks for sharing. It is hard finding the balance between heart and brain, but I think I get better at it with age (or at least I hope haha).

DeleteThis looks great! I'm sure it would be spot on and this is the main factor why stories like this become so successful - we can all relate to it at least in one stage. Thanks so much for sharing :)
