Did you just see a flash of lightning across the sky on a clear sunny day? It’s not from Mother Nature. It is most likely from Mason Grand, swoon-worthy demigod, one of Zeus’s descendants.

Skylar Rome is supposed to be having the best summer ever before she heads off to college. Little did she know, her whole life was about to change while visiting her cousin. Nearly drowning at the beach due to unknown forces, one of the Grand brothers she’d just met, Mason, saves her life. Cool, collected, mysterious, and dangerously good-looking, Skylar is drawn to him from the start. Though she knows he is the type of guy good girls stayed away from, it seems he is always saving her life, and the attraction was inevitable.

Upon meeting the brothers, strange things begin to happen. When she accidentally kills one of the brothers, it throws her life into turmoil, as they search to find the answers. Implausibly, she gets caught up in a world of the decedents of ancient gods, all who have super powers. Not only is her discovery difficult to accept, evil beings are after her. Running out of time and running for her life, she must unravel a mystery. What do they want from her? Forced into a battle set into motion long before she was born, will she find the answers, or will she die trying?

Skylar's father left when she was just a little child, and she can't understand why.

Years later, Skylar goes to visit some relatives during the summer before going to college, and that's when she meets Mason Grand and his brothers, and realizes that she might not be who she thought she was.

I love Greek mythology, and the way it is used in this book is incredibly cool! The story behind the demigods' existence is really interesting, and completely plausible if you ask me. The gods knew they had to keep their family line going, which is why they decided to have plenty of children for them to inherit their powers and abilities. And they still exist today.

These descendants are capable of doing amazing things, but not everyone wants them around. They do what they can to stay hidden and avoid conflict at all costs.

And, ok, all right, I understand they need to have children, so that they'll also inherit the same powers and all that stuff, but what is with most of these people though?? "Oh, I'm a descendant of Zeus, so, naturally, it is my duty to get as much unprotected sex as I can, to get a bunch of women pregnant and abandon them, but keeping my family line going that way, obviously".

That's really crappy of you!! And how do females do then? They can't really get away with that... I guess they don't populate the planet the way male demigods do. I just hope Mason doesn't turn out to be like that!

And I did feel bad for Mason more than once though, he doesn't want people to care about him or to care about someone else himself, since he's constantly in danger because of what he is, and it wouldn't be fair to risk it and put other people in that situation. But I'm glad he starts giving his relationship with Skylar a chance, they're a cute couple, and God knows the girl needs protection all right. It's incredible how close to death she always is!

The romance we see in this story is not only the one between Mason and Skylar, but also the one between Kayla and Nick. I have to admit that I still don't know how I feel about Nick, he seems pretty fun to be around, but he's a womanizer who behaves like a young teenage boy, so we'll see.

If you're into Greek mythology, then this is definitely for you! :)

Thank you for reading! ♥
