Doctor Strange (2016) + Some Big News!

Doctor Stephen Strange is an amazing neurosurgeon who, due to an awful car accident, can't perform surgeries anymore. He is told that there is one way left for him to save his wounded hands, and get back to doing the job he loves so much, but there's more to this healing process than he could've ever thought.

I always enjoy these Marvel movies, but Doctor Strange is now definitely one of my favorites, maybe because of all the magic in it. The Doctor's witty arguments had me laughing throughout the whole movie, he's an incredibly entertaining character. And oh man, such an ego! Gotta love the guy.

The world in this story is amazing and, for some reason, it feels really close to reality to me.

All the people in Kamar-Taj, the place he goes to heal, are great. They made me wish such a place actually existed, so that I could go and learn their secrets as well. I'm so jealous.

The cast is really amazing, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One was perfect. Unique characters like this one always fit her so well! And Cumberbatch as the Doctor was just as good! I've got no complaints here. To the people responsible for this department: you're awesome, great job with the casting.

If you're not into superhero movies, then this is definitely the superhero movie you've been waiting for. Crazy, I know. But I think that it's so easy to relate to him, and, in the end, he's just a smart guy trying to learn stuff, see how far he can come and how he can benefit from it all. He's curious. He didn't just wake up one day and decided he wanted to rid the world of all evil.

Actually, I was also pretty mad at him for being such a careless driver. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone other than himself. Badly done, Strange! You just brought this on yourself.

The special effects were just breath-taking, I saw the regular version of the movie, but I definitely suggest to watch the 3D one, since it seemed to me that a lot of things would be better appreciated that way. The buildings changing and moving in all directions, the crazy places the Ancient One sent Doctor Strange while showing him her powers... Every single place looked so real.

And man, those action scenes!! I loved them all. I just couldn't stop thinking how much work was put into it all, to synchronize all those movements...

And the makeup!! The wardrobe!!... I'm just too excited...

Man, now I feel so sad. I want to go to Kamar-Taj as well and learn all those amazing powers. I am one who enjoys meditation, chakra healing and all that stuff, so this story is very intriguing to me. Now, hand me an invitation to that place and let me try my own powers, thank you very much.

And seriously, people of planet Earth, have we not learned to sit through the credits of a Marvel movie, because there are always cool, secret scenes to expect after that? Haven't we??

Why you standing up every time? I don't understand.

Here's the trailer in case you haven't watched it yet :)

Aaaand now to the big news...

I recently created a new design for this blog and I'm currently working on it, so you might expect to see it (kinda) soon!!

Well, there's a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm very excited about it, which I hope makes me work even harder!! And it is a complete redesign by the way, this place is going to change all right ;)...

Thank you for reading! ♥

  3. Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing that new design in the future quite a lot! And I like the sound of this movie. I mean, I liked the sound of a superhero movie featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as soon as I heard that was going to be a thing, but the plot and the magic all sound really appealing to me now too. Can't wait to watch it!

  5. I'm not reading your review because I just saw this one and have to write my own review (I try and steer clear of reading reviews until I've written mine). But I will say I loved this one! From your comment replies, it sounds like you liked this one too. Of course, part of the appeal (for me) was Cumberbatch. :) Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Carla.
