Stacking The Shelves #1
A few days ago I
was reading some blogs and found this amazing meme made by Team Tynga’s Reviews, I
loved the idea so much that I immediately wanted to join :). So this is the
description of the meme:
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books
you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you
can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from
friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
If you want to find out more
about Stacking The Shelves, please visit the official
launch page! (http://www.tyngasreviews.com/2012/05/staking-shelves-official-launch.html)

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
Today I’m going to
be talking about the Divergent series, BUT this
time I seriously need to say some things that will contain MAJOR spoilers, I’ll
hide that section so anyone who wants to read it just needs to click on the
button, if you haven’t read the series then stay away from that button :) don’t
click it, don’t.
I think most of you
already know what this series is about, since the first movie recently came
out; for those of you who don’t (or those who need a reminder), it’s about a dystopian
city, where people are divided into five factions: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless
and Erudite. Once a person turns 16, they have the option of choosing if they
want to stay in their faction or if they want to change to another one, there’s
an aptitude test they have to go through that may help them with their
decision, but it’s entirely up to them what they choose to do. This series
tells the story of Beatrice Prior, also known as Tris, who is an Abnegation
member but doesn’t feel like she belongs there, so she struggles between having
to stay in Abnegation or change factions and, with that, leave her family
behind. Not just that, but Tris has a secret she can’t tell anyone… she’s
divergent. Dun dun duuuun…

How to Make a Life Ring
So, lately I've been
trying to be more productive and get a lot of things done before going back to
class (I can get really bored when I'm not doing anything). One of the things I've
been doing is courses on Coursera and I have to say that it's been a lot of
fun! :)
One of the courses
I'm taking is called Creativity, Innovation and Change and I wanted to talk to you about the assignment we got this week. Most Coursera
courses work with weekly videos and an assignment or quiz you have to turn in
at the end of the week.
So this week we had
to make something called Life Ring. I
was a little bit confused at first but when I started making it, little by little,
I had a lot of fun and found it to be very useful for my life right now. I won't
give you the exact instructions on how to make one, because that's something
the teachers of the course provided for us and I don't consider it to be right,
but I'll explain the idea of this activity so you can make one yourself, I'm
pretty sure there are other instructions out there on how to make this, since I've
already seen some life rings out there made by other people.
Now, at first I
wasn't sure I wanted to share mine, because it can be a little personal, but I
think it can be very helpful to others too. So here's the one I made:
