Emmy always knew that the woods surrounding her home crawled with ghosts and monsters. But on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, she learns that she is connected to these creatures--and to the land itself--in a way she never imagined.

Collecting the first four issues of the southern gothic fairy tale from the creator of smash hit The Sixth Gun, beautifully and hauntingly realized by B.P.R.D.'s Tyler Crook!

**I received a free eARC from the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review**

I thought it'd be appropriate to post this review today :)

Hester Beck was shot, stabbed, beaten, hanged and burned. She was a healing woman and did very suspicious things in the woods, so her neighbors did everything in their power to kill her. And, during her last moments of life, she vowed she'd come back for them.

This was an amazing read! I love creepy stories, but most always end up disappointing me. That wasn't the case with Harrow County. The story is very original and the art was amazingly done, both making this very entertaining from the very first page.

The creatures to be found here were nothing like the ones I've seen before.

I also loved that it includes sketches, little glimpses of the artistic process and the story that was written before this became a comic.

Definitely recommend it to anyone who's into creepy stuff :)

Any other creepy stories you know?

Thank you for reading! Bye-Bye!

  1. I haven't read too many creepy novels yet, but that is something I fully intend to change with time, which I am sincerely hoping I will be able to do. I also really like the sound of the art in this one, and the revenge based plot! I am all about those revenge books.
