Jurassic World (2015) + 4DX Cinema

JUST LOOK AT THAT POSTER!!! It's my favorite of them all :3

So I was very lucky and got to see Jurassic World in 4DX. To tell you the truth I really wanted to see this, my dad likes Jurassic Park very much. Every time he catches it on TV he leaves it on and I'm pretty much used to those movies.

And, let's be honest now, that trailer looked AWESOME.

Here it is again, because it's just too good:

I bet lots of people wanted to go see this (and I also bet that most were not disappointed, I know I wasn't). I thought it be a nice idea to separate this in two parts: the movie and the 4DX cinema experience. And don't worry if you haven't seen this yet, I'll keep it completely spoiler-free.

The Movie

Ok ok... who else gets all the feels when they listen to the Jurassic Park main theme?

It kind of reminds me of Islands of Adventure too, they would always play that song at the Jurassic Park attraction and I just loved it. And I definitely got that same feeling when I was watching this new movie and they show us the park and play that song, I thought I was gonna cry just because.

So what is Jurassic World about?
It's been 20 years since that little incident at Jurassic Park. But now humans think we're better and cooler and stronger, so they make a new theme park, Jurassic World, where you can also find a new genetically modified dinosaur, their newest asset called Indominus Rex... and you just know how it's all going to turn out.

I loved that this wasn't a remake. They talk about Jurassic Park and about what happened and still have some of the old park's stuff lying around, it just made it more real to me.

And let me tell you something: I would SO go to that park, because it looked awesome!! All the dinosaurs were beautiful and the attractions were amazing, ugh I was so sad this isn't real.

The characters were amazing too, and I hated the villain oh so much, from the first moment you see him, you immediately know he's the bad guy, but I guess that doesn't really matter much in a movie full of dinosaurs, the Indominus Rex takes the hat, so you sit down, you human villain, you.

The main female character, Claire, is the park's operations manager and both her nephews are coming over to spend a week with her at the park. Claire is very lovable, at least to me, I really liked her! She just shows them all what her perfectionist butt that everybody criticizes can do. And she's so very pretty for God's sake.

And let's appreciate for a moment that, during all unexpected events, girl never took off her heels.

So I'm going to stop here before I start getting into all the details and tell you the whole thing.

If you haven't seen this movie just go. Go now and watch it. It's brilliant.

4DX Cinema

Is this the future? And, if it is, then oh God is the future expensive. I thought I'd never go to a 4DX cinema. Ever. But I did. I guess the next time I do is when it's become so very common that the price has gone down and it's like going to a regular cinema.

But I do have to say it was better than expected! I remember I wanted to go see Frozen in 4D (yes, without the X) when it just came out, since it was so much cheaper, I think you just had the movement stuff but not the scents, water spraying and all that, but there were no seats left that day, and then soon they eliminated 4D, leaving only 4DX.

Jurassic World was a really great movie to go see in 4DX, I mean, there are huge dinosaurs running around after all!!

So what does 4DX include?
Seat motion and vibration. Scents. Water spray. Face air jets. And some cool lighting effects for when there were gunshots and stuff like that.

And that's it. Or at least that's what this movie included? It says on Wikipedia that there's more stuff but this is all we got, I hope it was just because of this movie.

The seat motion and vibration were the best part, those were incredibly good, like an attraction at any good theme park. The scents I liked a lot, although I'm almost sure they used like two different scents throughout the whole movie and that was it, at least they were really nice, but some variety would've been good, not everything smells the same. The water spraying was just too poor. I wanted to get drenched, I was waiting!! When the big mosasaurus from the trailer gets back into the water I was so ready!!... Not even one drop on my face. It was a really, really light spray. And I was so sad :'( I know most people wouldn't like to get all wet when going to the movies, but those people could have the option to turn it off or have some seats available where there's no water spraying. I also understand it could be too much, the whole cinema would get wet and people's food and all that. But all I'm asking is just a bit more, I barely felt the water, you guys T.T I was tempted to take my water bottle and make those water effects myself.

Apparently there are also left and right neck air jets, but I only felt the face air jets, at least those were great. Finally, I really loved the lighting effects, they really resembled gunshots.

And that concludes my review of these two. All that's left to say is that I loved the movie and the 4DX experience, if I were rich I'd go see movies like this all the time. If you get the chance just take it, 4DX is really cool.

Have you watched Jurassic World? Did you like it? Have you been to a 4DX cinema?

Thank you for reading! Bye-Bye!

  8. Great post! I agree with you 100% about the movie. :)

I've never seen a regular movie in 4DX before...I did see a pirate one with cheap water and smell effects at a theme park once where you wore the red and blue glasses. Sounds like a cool experience!
