A 30-PAGE NOVELETTE SET IN THE HEARTBLAZE WORLD

Beatrix, a daring college student, can’t believe she gets to spend Christmas traveling alone in Europe! But her excitement fades when a terrifying natural disaster strikes, trapping her in a remote Gothic village at the mercy of…

Augustin, a gorgeous Czech vampire with sad eyes and a tragic past. The holidays have profound significance to Augustin. He seeks to share his secrets with Beatrix, whose parents never celebrated Christmas, and soon she gets caught up in an extraordinary yuletide adventure.

Augustin becomes consumed by Beatrix and demands more than just a confidante. Much more. So Beatrix must fight him with the only weapon she has…her heart. But will that be enough to survive the night in the arms of an immortal? If not, her first Christmas may be her last.

**I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Beatrix is driving across Europe on her own, and she gets lost during a snow blizzard, ending up in the Czech Republic. Once she's rescued after a little incident, she starts wandering around the place and meets a very sad looking man... who turns out to be a vampire.

Her parents don't celebrate Christmas, so to her it's just like any other day, but that's not Augustin's case. He doesn't want to be alone on this special day, and he seeks Beatrix's company.

At first I didn't understand why such a smart girl would follow a stranger into a very dark and lonely place. But then I thought that he must have be using some kind of persuasion, like casting a spell over her like Beatrix mentions. Because honestly, who would do that? The guy was definitely doing something to her.

So Augustin doesn't turn out to be a psycho after all, and he invites Beatrix to have dinner at his place. He shares his sad story with her and she gets involved in a little Christmas tradition of his.

I really liked this tradition, it was a very sweet thing to do and just makes you appreciate what you have.

A very cute paranormal short story to read around Christmas time :)

Thank you for reading! Bye-Bye!

    1. This would definitely be more my style for Christmas than a lot of the contemporary romance ones I see. :)
